OVERCAME A CHALLENGING TIME IN SCHOOL

Problem:
Before he met Jason Thong, Erick was facing a very challenging time in his new school. He seemed to be ‘disliked’ by a 5 teachers who perceived him as arrogant and disrespectful to them. The constant harsh words from these teachers and some students have tarnished Erick’s confidence and turned him into a self-absorbed teen. Even his mom Angeline felt helpless and depressed as she wasn’t able to help his son.

Solution:
Jason offered himself to work with Erick as his life coach in the early part of 2015. Both of them developed mutual respect for each other and their bond was positively strong. Their initial coaching sessions were focused on helping Erick understand himself better in order for him to realise how he was struggling emotionally. Subsequently, Jason taught him to empathise with each of the 5 teachers whom he was having trouble with. The last phase was dedicated to help him created a vision and take meaningful action in the right direction.

Results:

• Erick found a clearer purpose in his life.
• He has earned the trust from his teachers in school and is now actively tutoring other students who are facing problems with their studies.
• He overturned a challenging situation in school to one that is empowering and motivating for him.
• In October 2015, he was elected to be the Chairman of the school library – a dream came true for him.
