Watch What Audrey Say
Name: Audrey
Age: 23
Occupation: Brain Trainer
Problem:
Audrey was a young graduate with a degree majoring in Psychology and Finance. She had a few female friends which she was very close to and they were in contact frequently. One of her friends was constantly requiring her to listen to her sob stories and problems. No matter what advice Audrey gave to this friend of hers, she’d still come back with the same problems every few days. Audrey had to stay on the phone for hours sometimes just to please her friend and the calls were draining her out. Not only that, it was also affecting her emotions at work.
Solution:
Through deep conversations with her coach Jason Thong, Audrey learned that she had difficulty saying no to her friends, family and colleagues. As a result, she was constantly giving in to their requests without taking care of her own emotional needs. Coaching helped Audrey realised that an incident in that past has haunted her and made it difficult for her to say no. Audrey left each coaching session equipped with a new insight about herself. With a better understanding of how her desire to please others was contradicting with her deep desire to feel calm, she learned how to make better choices when confronted with future requests.
Results:
- Audrey’s biggest lesson was that she has full control of her decisions – no matter how her friends might perceive them.
- She still keep in contact with her close friend but her friend’s problems are not affecting her as much.
- Her emotional intelligence has definitely increased – resulting in an improved well-being.
- She is much happier now just being herself.
